When people use this pair
Brazilian Portuguese webinars and university lectures for English-reading partners: upload the video, set Portuguese (Brazil) → English, and get the same file back with burned-in English subtitles (or bilingual Portuguese + English). This translates the spoken video into on-screen captions — not audio-only and not a plain text dump.
Product pitches filmed in Brazilian Portuguese for international buyers. Burn English-only or bilingual captions into the picture so partners can follow without rewatching. When you need softsubs in another editor, export the subtitle file separately after you are happy with the result.
Internal meetings in Brazilian Portuguese for an English-speaking board. Sign in, upload a local file, translate, and burn-in. Eligible videos ≤10 minutes can finish translation after sign-in as a free preview. Optional English AI dubbing is available after subtitles if you pick a voice from the library.
Subtitles for English
VidDub translates the spoken video and burns synced English subtitles into the picture (English-only or bilingual) — not audio-only and not text-only. You can also export the subtitle file separately when you want softsubs. Before burn-in, adjust subtitle style at a high level: position, color, size, and background, with a live preview. Upload a local video (MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, or WebM, up to 2 GB). Finished files leave the server after about 24 hours.
Dubbing in English
English AI dubbing is optional and starts only after the English translation. Pick a voice from the VidDub library. Timing follows the original Brazilian Portuguese speech timeline. If burned-in English captions are enough, skip dubbing.
Is translating a Portuguese video to English free?
A free preview is available after sign-in for eligible videos ≤10 minutes so you can finish the translation and review the burned-in result. Export the final file when you are satisfied. Plans are listed on the pricing page: /en/pricing/.
Which language pairs does VidDub support?
VidDub supports 17 source languages and 18 target languages. This page is for Brazilian Portuguese spoken audio → English. Open /en/languages/ for the full list, or use other pair pages such as English → Portuguese when the speech is in English.
Can AI dubbing keep the original speaker’s voice?
No. VidDub does not clone the original speaker’s voice. After translation you can optionally pick an English voice from the library; the new track follows the original timeline. If you only need burned-in captions, skip dubbing.
Does lip sync match the new English audio?
No. VidDub does not change mouth movements or promise lip sync. The picture stays as you recorded it; optional dubbing only adds a new voice track while burned-in subtitles stay on screen.
What formats and length can I upload? Can I use it on mobile?
Upload MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, or WebM up to 2 GB. Free preview covers eligible videos ≤10 minutes after sign-in. You can use VidDub in the browser on a computer or phone, or in the iOS and Android apps. Bilingual burn-in (Portuguese + English) and subtitle export are available when you need them.
